Music Dept Fundraising, Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Free Concert

Dear Kaimuki Middle School Music Families,

We are past the halfway point of the 2nd quarter, time is flying by so quickly! Here are a few updates and opportunities for you:

Foodland Give Aloha
Mahalo to all the families who donated through the Give Aloha program! After adding in the matching donations from Foodland, we raised about $3800 to go towards repairs and new instruments. If you haven’t received an updated donation letter, please email your donation receipt to derek.fujio@k12.hi.us

Kahala Mall Very Merry Event
We have another fundraising opportunity available to help benefit the Music Department as well as to support local vendors. Kahala Mall is offering a discount pass for use on Dec. 11-13, just in time for your last-minute holiday shopping. The cards are $5 each and the school will keep 100% of the sales. Click this link to see what discounts are offered.

To preorder, fill out your information in this Google form. The cards will be distributed drive-thru style at KMS afterschool on Nov. 24/25 (2:15pm – 3:30pm).

Hawaii Symphony Orchestra Free Concert
Finally, through a generous corporate sponsorship, the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra has offered free tickets to all KMS music students for their online Nov. 21 concert – Going Home: Songs of Comfort. Tickets are normally $20 each, so this is a prime opportunity to watch Hawaii’s own symphony for free in the comfort of your home.

Please fill out this Google form by 10am on Friday, Nov 20, and you will be sent a link to watch the concert live at 7:30pm on Saturday.

Mahalo,
Derek Fujio
