Welcome to the start of the new school year!

Dear KMS Music Department Families,

Welcome to the start of the new school year. We are so happy to be back with all of our students, making music together in person. This opportunity also brings new challenges and responsibilities to keep our students and families as safe as possible while still providing good educational and learning experiences. Please make sure you review our Personal Protective Equipment guidelines and COVID Safety Protocols.

Music Department Handbook
Your children should have already been introduced to the basic information and guidelines that will govern their experience in the KMS Music Department. Please review the document when you can, and note the additional information for the safety and health guidelines for returning to face-to-face classroom instruction this year.

Books and Supplies
Students should have received supply lists of all the materials they need to purchase to participate successfully in their music classes. You can find the updated lists for 2021-2022 on this site or on Google Classroom. Most supplies can be purchased at Music Center of Hawaii or Easy Music Center.

Music Department Fees and Fundraising
All Music Department students are required to pay a fee to support the co-curricular activities and materials required for music classes. We also ask for a small donation if you are going to borrow a KMS instrument. Most families have already done this, but if you haven’t yet, the forms are also available on this website.

If you would like to make a donation to support the Music Department, we are participating in the Foodland Give Aloha program during the month of September. Ask your Foodland or Sack ‘n Save cashier to assist you in submitting a partially matched donation. Our Give Aloha number is 78810.

If you have received this email by mistake, would like to be removed from the contact list, or have another email you would prefer to use, please let us know. Any other questions about your music class can be referred to your teacher via email. For other updates, please check the Music Department website, maintained by our Boosters, at http://www.kms-music.net
