We’d first like to thank the parents, teachers, students, and volunteers who made last night’s Winter Concert #1 a rousing success.  Thank you for your kind words, generous donations, and assistance with the KMS Music Program! Tonight’s program will feature the following:

Beginning Band (6:00pm)
Featuring a mix of concert and seasonal favorites. Beginning band will perform concert standards such as Leo Arnaud’s Olympic fanfare Bugler’s Dream and the Ode To Joy theme from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. The band will also play Christmas favorites like Up on a Housetop and Jolly Old St. Nicholas. The program is rounded out with the Mickey Mouse March and two concert works by Paul Lavender.

Kaimuki Concert Band (6:45pm)
Featuring the concert band music of James Swearingen and Robert Sheldon. The Kaimuki Concert Band will also play a medley of seasonal favorites in A Winter Celebration and a suite of music from the Disney Animated Feature Pocahontas. KCB finishes featuring trumpet, saxophone, and oboe soloists in SMAP’s Sekai Ni Hitotsu Dake No Hana.

Kaimuki Symphonic Winds (7:30pm)
Featuring the concert music of Steven Reineke and Gustav Holst. KSW welcomes retired Wilson Elementary Band Director Kazu Sunabe to guest conduct Selections from the Greatest Showman. KMS Chorus teacher Kendal Ledesma will also guest conduct. The program also includes the Carpenters classic Merry Christmas Darling and Do You Hear What I Hear? J-Pop group SMAP’s Sekai Ni Hitotsu Dake No Hana rounds out the program.

One more thing, there will be a KMS 8th Grade Snack Tent located right outside of the auditorium tonight. Prices are listed above.
